WITHOUT THIS YOU CAN'T MAKE IT

Many Christians live their entire life never knowing how to experience the revealed presence of God. Some do not see its relevance or importance to their lives. Hence it is not a priority with them. Perhaps they don't know what Jesus said, His presence is necessary for sustenance for the journey of life. It is something that without it you are scarcely able to get by.

Here are seven reasons why God’s revealed presence is essential

First, His presence is God’s purpose for you and all of mankind. God created man to commune with Him. The essence of the seeking referred to in Acts 17 is worshipping God. We praise and pray until we find him. It is God’s delight and desire that we seek His face, the closeness and the intimacy of His person. He wants us to come close. “When [God] said [to David], "Seek My face (inquire for and require My presence as your vital need)," My heart said to You, "Your presence (your face), LORD, I will seek (inquire for and require of necessity).” (Ps 27:8 NKJV emphasis from the Amplified)

Secondly, God’s revealed presence is what makes Christians and Jews unique. God, the Father of Creation, most willingly lowered Himself to our level to personally accompany us through life’s trial or trouble. While non-believers are filled with loneliness and fear; we have the favor of the presence of God with us and near us. Moses said, "If You don't go with us, we won't go."

Thirdly, God’s revealed nearness helps us live the life of Christ. Like Moses said, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here” (Ex 33:15). Without God’s presence life is difficult and hard.

Fourthly, His presence protects us from the enemy. His presence is our hiding place. “You are a hiding (covering, shelter, secret) place for me; you preserve me from trouble...” (Ps 32:7) His presence is our secret place. “You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence [face] From the plots of man…” (Ps 31:20)

Also, God’s presence is how we develop relationship with God. He offers Himself to His children to be known and loved. He makes Himself present and available for a personal relationship with you. When you are close to God you can hear from Him and receive encouragement and direction.

The sixth reason God’s manifest presence is essential is that He refreshes us and blesses us. His revealed nearness satisfies and fulfills us. “You will show (cause me to know, …and experience) the path of life (revival and renewal); In Your presence (face) is fullness of joy; At Your right hand (place of favor, success) are (continual, perpetual) pleasures (pleasant, delightful - like the sweet sound of singing) forevermore.” (Ps 16:11 AMP; descriptions mine)

Lastly, God’s presence is the only thing necessary in our lives. David said, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord (presence) all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty (or face) of the Lord and to inquire in his temple [presence].” (Ps 27:4 ESV)

Jesus also conveyed that thought when He said, “But one thing is needed (necessary for sustenance, the journey or life; something that without it you are scarcely able to get by), and Mary has chosen that good (excellent) part (a soul inclined to goodness, eager to learn saving truth and ready to bear the fruits of a Christian life), which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42)

Mary chose to be in Jesus presence, sitting at His feet, and beholding His face. It is this one thing that is essential for life. It brings peace, comfort, security, safety, and empowerment. Jesus was saying it is the most important thing there is for the believer and leader. His manifest presence is what you need to navigate through life.
