ASK ME

Several years ago some of the most prominent worship ministries from Germany, France, Finland, Israel, Iran, South Africa, Congo, Ghana, Brazil, Singapore, Taiwan, and Peru, came together for the International Worship Pastors Summit hosted by Gateway Worship. It stirred me to pray for these leaders and nations. We declared the destiny Lord Jesus had for each one would be fulfilled.

During that session we were challenged to consider what question would you ask Jesus? it is important to ask and know what to ask for. James said, “You don’t have because you don’t ask" (4:2). Then James added,” You ask and do not receive, because you ask incorrectly" (4:3). I was set back....

I have to admit when I thought about it, I didn't know what to ask. "Am I shy?" I thought to myself. Most prayers have an ask in them or several asks. Why couldn’t I think of what to ask Jesus? I guess because I thought it had to be the 'big ask;' my once-in-a-lifetime ask.

I know Jesus wants us to ask Him what we want or need though He knows already. We know this because He taught us to ask when we pray. Jesus repeatedly said to ask Him.

Look at these scriptures.

"Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.” (Matt 7:7 Amp)

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask in prayer.” (Matt 21:22 BSB)

"And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13 "BSB)

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." (1 John 5:14)

"If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7 BSB). When we are abiding in Christ and His Word in us, we can ask anything because our asking will not violate His will.

It is clear the Lord Jesus Christ invites you to ask of Him. I encourage you to think about what do you want Him to do for you? Think of it like this: If Jesus physically came to your house and sat down with you to talk, what would you ask Him?

Think about it carefully and then go ahead and ask Him. Ask Him right now. I encourage you to remember, He is good and thinks only good about you and wants to give you good things because He loves you so dearly. “…Your Father in heaven will give good things to those that ask Him.” (Matt 7:11)

What is your big ask? I would like to pray with you about it.

It’s a great reminder that we don’t have to navigate challenges alone and that there’s value in reaching out for help. Balancing life’s demands can be tough, and sometimes I think about how helpful it would be to pay someone to complete online class tasks so I can focus on personal growth and other priorities. Your message resonates deeply, emphasizing the importance of support and community.
